Well, we actually did it, we bought a school bus. I think we may be crazy but we have one now.
We chose this particular bus over some of the others we had looked at because it had pretty low miles for a 1996 model, engine is in good condition, tires had over 90% tread left on them, and the guy we bought from purchased recently, directly from the school system so we know it has been maintained well. Another benefit of this particular bus is that the seats have already been removed so that is a big chunk of the demo out of the way now.
So now, we will start trying to get our plans together and actually get working on converting this bus into a Skoolie. The first thing we need to do is try to get it registered, and we will be posting about that as we do. The next big thing is planning for the plumbing and electrical, again we will be updating every step of the way.
This is an exciting adventure for us, we have never done anything like this before and we have so much to learn but we cannot wait to get started on it. Our ultimate goal being to get this functioning as a RV so we can get on the road and do some traveling with the family in the near future.
